In addition, this product makes the surrounding space visually enjoyable,” says Shota as he explains his concept, “I live on Okinawa Island south of Japan. One day, I saw a moving cloud while it rained on the coast. The idea of this chair came up from the scenery at that time.”Cloud Chair by Shota Urasaki | Scale Online MagazineCloud Chair by Shota Urasaki | Scale Online Magazine“The seating surface enables a cloud-like expression by piercing polyester fibre into the polyurethane foam with a needle. The high seat gives the seated person a floating-like experience. In addition, the mirror-like stainless steel legs and pedestal makes it possible to express the rain,” says Shota, explaining the design process.Cloud Chair by Shota Urasaki | Scale Online MagazineThe project was initiated in April 2019 and ended in October 2019 and is made of stainless steel, Polyester fibre, wood, polyurethane foam and is completely handmade.
